History & culture
Tirana's mountain, fifteen minutes from the boulevard.
Mount Dajti rises just east of the capital — a national park reached by Albania's only cable car, and the green escape Tiranans head to for cool air, forest walks and a view over the whole city.
The Dajti Express
The Dajti Ekspres cable car climbs from the edge of Tirana to about 1,050 m in roughly fifteen minutes, lifting you from city traffic into pine forest and panorama. At the top are restaurants, walking trails and views across the city to the Adriatic on a clear day.
A national park on the doorstep
Dajti National Park protects oak and beech forest, karst caves and springs, with peaks above 1,600 m. It has been Tirana's weekend mountain for generations — picnics, paragliding and a quick reset from the capital.
No other European capital has wilderness this good this close.
