Korçë — the 'Little Paris', city of serenades and the first Albanian-language school — is the cultural heart of the southeast. Around it lie the highland villages of Voskopojë and Dardhë and a belt of farms that have turned to agrotourism. Three days for the town and its surroundings.
The old bazaar, the National Museum of Education in the building of that first Albanian school, the Resurrection Cathedral and the Mili photography museum, then coffee on Republika boulevard.
Up into the highlands — the frescoed Byzantine churches of Voskopojë, once one of the largest cities in the Balkans, and the stone village of Dardhë with its pear museum (and skiing in winter).
The villages ringing Korçë — Boboshticë for its old houses and homemade preserves, the family farms of Drenovë, and the lakes near Maliq — before a last round of the bazaar for handicrafts.
